Origins and history
The Northwest Territorial Organisation emerged from the growth and integration of the former zones of Castile, Asturias/Leon and Galicia.
In Castile, the first branch office opened in Valladolid in 1976, relocating in 1980 to María de Molina Street; key figures in its management were Guillermo Pesquera, José Manuel Cerdeira, Herberto Villáro, Luis Vela, and Julián González Calvo. In 1989, Victoriano Hernández Lera created the Castile Organisation, incorporating offices in seven provinces.
In Asturias and Leon, the first branch office was opened in Oviedo in 1977, followed by Gijón; initially dependent on the Cantabria Organisation, they became the Asturias Organisation under Ricardo Moreno and later Antonio Rodríguez Fernández.
In Galicia, the first branch offices were opened in A Coruña and Vigo during the 1980s, with two initial structures (Galicia North and South), unified in 1992 under Alejandro Hevia, and subsequently integrated with the Organisation of Antonio Rodríguez to form the former Northwest.
For years, the Castile Organisation and the Northwest Organisation coexisted until 2010, when they were definitively merged into the current Northwest Territorial Organisation, which covers Galicia, Asturias, and Castile y Leon (except Soria), initially led by Joaquín da Silva and, from 2025, by Miguel Serrano.
This structure was created to offer a more personal, agile and locally adapted service to customers in regions with dynamic and growing economies.
